Technical Specification for Lift or Off-line UPS (Range 6 kva to 120 kva) Technology

IGBT BASED Double conversion Isolation Transformer Technology – Latest Microcontroller based PWM Generation.

Salient Features of Lift UPS.

  • Versatile design ensuring compatibility with all types of elevators.
  • Designed to provide power supply backup from 10 Minutes to 3 Hours on a continuous load basis (on a actual usage condition this may backup up to 10 hours)
  • Safety being highest priority, UPS is designed to work uninterrupted even when the battery low signal is given by ensuring lift movement and stoppage at the nearest floor. This totally avoids passengers getting trapped inside the lift,
  • IGBT technology enhances the up time guarantee up to 99% by reducing breakdowns.
  • Availability of 3 Phase charger avoids the heavy loading on single phase and distributes the charging current on all three phase equally.
  • Reverse charger technology avoids shock on the batteries up to 144 VDC (Applicable for reverse charger systems)
  • Provision for backing up more than one elevator with a single UPS system including option for floor stoppage with our Twin tower technology.

Difference Between Generators Set & UPS

Evaluation Criterion Diesel Generator (DG) Set UPS
Capital Cost High Capital Cost
  • DG System / Equipment
  • Auto Start Panel / AMF (Auto Main Failure) Control Panel
  • Sound proof canopy
  • Exhaust smoke piping till the top floor.
  • Foundation.
  • Battery and Battery charging
  • Liaisoning cost for EB and Pollution control board.
  • Statutory approvals
  • Fuel storage license.
Low capital cost
  • UPS system
  • Batteries.
Space
  • Needs larger space for installation and maintenance (Equivalent to a minimum of One Car park space)
  • Less Space – Can be fitted under unused Staircase landing / Lift Machine Room / Other areas.
Running Cost
  • Diesel consumption even under minimum load as per DG Capacity (Consumption under No load is @ 50%)
  • Manpower cost for managing day to day activities like diesel consumption records, DG operation, battery charging, and periodic maintenance.
  • Cost of idle running to upkeep the ignition system.
  • High maintenance cost (‘A’ check, ‘B’ check, Oil change and spares).
  • Fuel cost escalations.
  • Battery replacement cost after 3 years much lower than the fuel and maintenance cost for same period.
  • Battery energy is consumed according to load thus enhancing the life of batteries.
  • No load consumption is negligible.
  • Low maintenance cost.
  • Running cost is restricted to replacement of batteries once in 3 – 4 years.
Output Power Quality
  • Quality of power, output Efficiency, fuel consumption, Noise level and emissions will deteriorate under wear and tear.
  • Inefficiencies of overload, short circuit and such similar issues may arise over the usage period.
  • High and consistent quality power output throughout the life.
  • Emergency landing facility.
  • Backup history record for easy diagnostics and solutions.
Life
  • Average life: 10 – 12 yeas
  • Effective life span depends on quality of upkeep and periodic maintenance and timely replacement of spares.
  • Average Life: 10 – 12 years.
  • No moving parts – No wear and tear.
Pollution
  • Emits smoke.
  • Elaborate checks and efforts needed to keep the emissions under check.
  • Operational noise.
  • Absence of fuel usage makes it free from smoke.
  • No noise.
  • Environment friendly.
